
Mahdev Mohan
Mahdev is a former Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore, and an Of Counsel with KGP Legal. Mahdev specializes in international law, regulatory compliance, and commercial law & dispute management.
At KGP he co-heads the Technology & Start-up Law (TSL) Practice, drawing on his experience in multinational technology companies, such as Google LLC. At Google, he led a global team of legal policy specialists that worked to launch technology products & features in emerging markets.
Prior to Google, he has worked with Senior Counsels to advise and represent sovereigns, multinationals and high net-worth clients on a range of matters, including banking law, company law, TSL agreements and disputes; and before courts as well as commercial and investment arbitration tribunals.
Mahdev is also a consultant with an Indian foreign law practice based in Maxwell Chambers suites in Singapore where he has succeeded as lead counsel in a cross-border mediation. He has assisted UK barristers on commercial litigation before the English Court of Appeal. He is an Associate Tenant with Temple Garden Chambers, a leading set of chambers in London in the fields of commercial law, and public international law.
In Singapore, Mahdev has been an associate with Drew & Napier LLC and an Of Counsel with Providence Law Asia LLC, and a legal adviser to the Ministries of Defence, Law, and Foreign Affairs within the Singapore Government. He completed his Master’s at Stanford Law School on a Fulbright Scholarship, and was an A/Professor of Law at SMU where he directed cross-border initiatives within the Commercial Law Centre. Mahdev is a founding member of the Singapore Branch of the International Law Association that was pioneered by the Chief Justice of Singapore.
